Solutions Consultant II

The Solutions Consultant II partners with sales and customer teams to lead technical discovery, customized demonstrations, and end-to-end Proof of Value engagements for PagerDuty’s SaaS platform. The role requires 4–7 years of pre-sales or post-sales technical experience, scripting and operating-system skills, and cloud infrastructure knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Build technical champions within customer accounts in partnership with Account Executives.
  • Own Proof of Value processes end-to-end, including discovery, business-case development, use-case scoping, success criteria, timelines, deliverables, and technical and final presentations.
  • Lead workshop-style technical discovery sessions that connect customer needs and technical solutions to business value.
  • Prepare and deliver customized product demonstrations, partnering with automation engineers on complex scenarios.
  • Conduct lightweight Operations Cloud Lifecycle Assessments.
  • Communicate persuasively with SREs, developers, MIMs, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
  • Address functional and competitive objections and articulate PagerDuty differentiators.
  • Maintain accurate customer feedback and outcomes in the CRM.
  • Share best practices and reusable assets with Solutions Consultants.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of pre-sales or post-sales technical experience.
  • Basic scripting or coding skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Intermediate Linux or Windows experience.
  • Beginner experience with cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, load balancers, security settings, and identity management.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a technical field.
  • Experience with observability, AIOps, automation, or IT service management tools.
  • Experience in enterprise sales environments.
  • Experience improving Solutions Consultant processes and team efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $120,000.00–$150,000.00 USD.
  • Potential eligibility for bonus, commission, equity, and benefits.
  • Hybrid work arrangement with attendance at the San Francisco office two times per week.
