Enterprise Sales Engineer - FED

Partners with enterprise sales teams to lead technical evaluations, demonstrate Datadog solutions, and guide customers from discovery through adoption. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to own the technical sales strategy from prospecting through closed-won opportunities.
  • Lead customer discovery and translate technical challenges and business goals into tailored Datadog solutions.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops.
  • Project-manage technical evaluations, including use-case scoping, success criteria, timelines, and stakeholder accountability.
  • Identify and cultivate customer technical champions and build internal consensus.
  • Provide customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and customer activity records in related systems.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, and go-to-market teams to resolve technical blockers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a technical customer-facing role in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder environments and communicating with technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, APM and tracing, security, developer experience, and observability.
  • Strong communication and consultative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to use AI tools.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements.
