Responsibilities
Virtual Site Surveys
- Conduct comprehensive virtual assessments for restaurant sites, including complex or escalated locations.
- Validate wiring, electrical infrastructure, networking, and internet performance.
- Perform advanced diagnostics such as traceroutes and port checks; document infrastructure gaps and risks.
- Provide technical guidance to clients and vendors and lead follow-ups to confirm remediation.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Technicians, and Engineering to ensure installation success.
- Mentor junior specialists and share technical knowledge.
- Recommend improvements to survey tools, templates, internal processes, and SOPs.
- Maintain detailed records, including photos, diagrams, and survey outcomes.
Installations
- Install and configure POS hardware, including workstations, printers, pin pads, cash drawers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Complete cabling, patching, and connectivity setup.
- Deliver onsite training and live support for restaurant staff and management.
- Implement menu and system updates and configure reporting.
- Perform pre- and post-installation readiness checks and troubleshooting.
- Lead client follow-ups to support smooth transitions and adoption.
- Travel regularly to client sites, including local and out-of-state travel with overnight stays.
Quality Assurance
- Follow documented SOPs, SLAs, checklists, and other quality processes.
- Review and verify work before submission to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify process gaps and errors and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of restaurant and/or technical support experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated success with 50+ POS installations or comparable technical deployments.
- Hands-on experience with restaurant POS systems, multi-terminal deployments, and technology installations in QSR, full-service, or franchise environments.
- Deep understanding of low-voltage cabling, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi optimization.
- Experience with network testing, including speed, latency, and DNS diagnostics.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Experience resolving escalated technical issues and managing complex, multi-site projects independently.
- Client-facing walkthrough, staff training, and technical communication experience, including Zoom or in-person delivery.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, POS hardware and software, menus, modifiers, and reporting workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, ticketing systems, and travel/expense management tools.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
- Ability to travel 50–75%, including overnight stays as needed.
- U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available.
