Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual and onsite site surveys for restaurant POS installations.
- Validate wiring, electrical infrastructure, networking, Wi-Fi, and internet readiness.
- Perform advanced diagnostics, including traceroutes, port checks, speed, latency, and DNS testing.
- Document infrastructure gaps, risks, photos, diagrams, and survey outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance to clients and vendors and lead remediation follow-ups.
- Install and configure POS hardware, including workstations, printers, pin pads, cash drawers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Complete cabling, patching, and connectivity setup.
- Deliver onsite training and live support for restaurant staff and management.
- Implement menu and system updates and configure reporting.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and installation issues and serve as a technical escalation point.
- Mentor junior specialists and contribute to survey tools, templates, SOPs, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, engineering, clients, and vendors.
- Maintain quality and consistency by following SOPs, SLAs, and checklists.
- Travel regularly to client sites, including local and out-of-state travel with overnight stays as needed.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of restaurant and/or technical support experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated success in 50+ POS installations or comparable technical deployments.
- Strong knowledge of networking infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi optimization.
- Experience with restaurant POS systems, multi-terminal deployments, and technology installations.
- Experience resolving escalated technical issues and communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-site projects independently and mentor junior team members.
- Experience conducting client-facing walkthroughs and training staff via Zoom or in person.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, POS hardware and software, menus, modifiers, and reporting workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM platforms, ticketing systems, and travel and expense management tools.
- Fluent written and verbal English and bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
- Ability to travel up to 50–75%.
- Work authorization in the United States; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Systems Administration, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or Hospitality Management with strong technical acumen.
- Experience in fintech or SaaS environments.
- Background in customer-facing roles, IT support, implementation, or technical project leadership within restaurants, retail, or multi-location businesses.
