Deal Desk
Act as commercial lead on complex enterprise deals at an AI startup, partnering with AEs to structure winnable, economically sound contracts, model financials, and mitigate risks through client-facing negotiations and precise documentation.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with account executives as the commercial lead on complex enterprise deals, acting as a strategic peer rather than back-office support.
- Participate directly in external, client-facing commercial conversations where negotiations require high credibility beyond the standard sales relationship.
- Translate HappyRobot's overarching commercial framework into custom deal structures that align with a specific customer's unique buying context, constraints, and organizational dynamics.
- Serve as an internal check on deals that appear favorable on the surface but carry hidden friction; flag contractual or economic risks well before they impact closure or implementation.
- Author deal documentation and contract language that bridges creative problem-solving with absolute contractual precision.
Must Have
- Deep understanding on how a deal must be structured to make the economics mutually beneficial.
- Ability to comprehend a complex contract quickly, discern exactly what is being legally committed to (independent of verbal alignment), and author creative yet precise commercial language.
- Innate ability to absorb a complex deal structure once and immediately model the upside, downside, margins, and compute economics.
Nice to Have
- Experience owning commercial contracts and transactions (rather than litigation).
- Deep transaction, structuring, and financial modeling experience.
- Owning operations from business development, sales operations, and commercial structuring at a growth-stage company.
- Deep technical implementation backgrounds who understand delivery economics and possess a strong aptitude for corporate finance.
Compensation and Benefits
- Top-Tier Compensation - Competitive salary + equity in a high-growth startup.
- Comprehensive Benefits - Healthcare, dental, vision coverage.
