Robotic System Integration Engineer

Integrates, tests, debugs, and deploys complete robotic systems across hardware, software, sensing, actuation, and customer environments. Requires an engineering degree, field-bus and actuation expertise, test-development experience, and C++ or Python proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and debug robot power, actuation, wired and wireless networking, and inertial, perception, force/torque, and tactile sensing systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software integration issues involving kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, perception, and control.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for complete robot systems and subsystems.
  • Gather requirements, design test systems, and implement tests.
  • Work with suppliers and external partners to integrate third-party components.
  • Deploy field applications, integrate with customer-side systems, and manage system-level integration to support customer success.
  • Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Author and maintain system architecture, integration, and debugging documentation.
  • Define integration best practices and improve development workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, mechanical, software, automotive, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation field buses such as EtherCAT and CANopen, including related debugging tools.
  • Expertise commissioning and fine-tuning actuation systems.
  • Strong proficiency creating and executing detailed test plans.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, test system design, and test implementation.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ROS2, Docker, and Ubuntu Linux.
  • Experience deploying robotic solutions in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with perception, motion planning, manipulation, or robot-learning algorithms.
