Specialist Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers through successful big data implementations, including architecture and security design, development and deployment best practices, and automation.
• Architect production-level workloads, including end-to-end pipeline load-performance testing and optimization.
• Provide technical expertise in cloud infrastructure and security for the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Assist Solution Architects with advanced aspects of technical sales, including custom proof-of-concept content, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
• Improve community adoption through tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations.
• Contribute to the Databricks Community and act as a technical subject-matter expert.

Requirements

• Pre-sales or post-sales experience working with external clients across varied industries.
• Experience designing, setting up, and maintaining production-grade big data systems using Spark.
• Experience designing cloud infrastructure and services using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience designing and maintaining cloud networks and connectivity, including VPC/VNet design, routing, segmentation, and private connectivity.
• Experience architecting production cloud networks for data and AI workloads, including segmentation and routing, data-exfiltration prevention, and performance and reliability.
• Knowledge of identity and access management, including role-based access control, least privilege, and identity-provider integration.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform or cloud-specific resource management tools such as ARM or CloudFormation.
• Experience supporting customers in designing and implementing security lakehouses or security data platforms on Databricks to augment SIEM, enable security analytics and threat hunting, and build advanced detections.
• Ability to design and extend performant, scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based big data solutions.
• Deep knowledge of engineering development tools and best practices, including CI/CD, unit and integration testing, automation, and orchestration.
• Production programming experience with Python, Scala, SQL, or R.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• The Singapore-based role covers the ASEAN and Greater China regions and requires up to 30% travel when needed.
