Account Director, Startups

Own strategic relationships and revenue growth for startup customers in Singapore, helping them build with OpenAI’s platform. The role requires 7–12 years selling PaaS, cloud, or API products, startup ecosystem experience, technical communication skills, and Mandarin fluency.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of startup accounts and execute comprehensive account-management strategies.
  • Partner with AI Deployment Engineers to drive successful technical engagements.
  • Own consumption and contracted revenue targets and manage revenue forecasts.
  • Analyze account metrics, produce reports, and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Advocate for improvements to the startup experience and synthesize customer product feedback.
  • Monitor industry and startup landscapes and contribute to corporate strategy.
  • Support teammate recruitment, onboarding, and company-culture development.

Requirements

  • 7–12 years of experience selling platform-as-a-service (PaaS), cloud, or API products.
  • Experience working in or around the startup ecosystem and supporting fast-growing, high-performing companies.
  • Experience working directly with C-level executives and startup founders.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to gather, distill, and process complex market intelligence across industries, competitors, customers, and prospects.
  • Mandarin-speaking skill is required.

  • Experience as a startup founder, startup employee, or professional working closely with startup customers.
  • Passion for or deep curiosity about artificial intelligence.
  • Customer-centric relationship-building and trusted-advisor skills.
  • Experience building systems and processes from the ground up.
