Implementation Engineer, Observe

Hands-on post-sales technical practitioner who deploys and operationalizes Observe for enterprise customers, designing telemetry pipelines and migrating existing observability environments. Requires 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles plus strong OpenTelemetry, cloud, and observability expertise.

Responsibilities

Lead structured implementations for enterprise customers from kickoff through initial production readiness.
Design and configure telemetry ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, and traces, including parsing, enrichment, normalization, and routing.
Work hands-on with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and collectors.
Migrate and modernize observability environments such as Splunk, ELK, and cloud-native monitoring tools into Observe.
Configure datasets, dashboards, alerts, and core observability assets aligned to customer use cases.
Establish implementation plans, milestones, and success criteria with customers.
Provide hands-on guidance that enables customers to become self-sufficient.
Identify and address technical risks, data quality issues, and architectural gaps.
Capture implementation patterns, best practices, and reusable assets.
Collaborate with Observability Engineers, Architects, Support, Product, and Engineering.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as implementation engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or SRE.
Strong hands-on experience with observability platforms and telemetry pipelines.
Practical experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation, collectors, exporters, and pipelines.
Experience with commercial or open-source observability solutions such as Splunk, ELK/Elastic, Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
Solid understanding of logs, metrics, and traces, including data modeling and tradeoffs at scale.
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and modern application architectures.
Ability to work directly with technical customer teams and communicate clearly at multiple levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working through ambiguity.

Nice to Have

Experience migrating customers from Splunk or ELK to modern observability platforms.
Background in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and cloud-native tooling.
Experience creating implementation templates, runbooks, or enablement content.
Exposure to multiple observability vendors or hybrid observability environments.
