Own and optimize Okta’s enterprise Jira and Confluence ecosystem for engineering planning, reporting, workflow governance, and AI-enabled automation. Responsibilities
- Define and execute an AI-led strategy for Jira-based product planning, tracking, and reporting from corporate objectives through sprint-level stories.
- Own and administer the Atlassian toolchain, including Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, Rovo, and AI integrations.
- Manage Jira architecture, schemas, workflows, screens, notification schemes, custom fields, permissions, and integrations.
- Design scalable, automated, self-service tooling and evaluate, pilot, and roll out AI capabilities for ticket triage, sprint planning, and status summarization.
- Align tooling with product development lifecycles, secure SDLC requirements, release cadences, and change-control policies.
- Standardize workflows across feature development, architecture improvements, and run-the-business operations.
- Migrate teams from fragmented spreadsheets and scripts into Jira as a synchronized source of truth.
- Ensure Jira data integrity and enable reporting on resource allocation, dependencies, priorities, cycle time, lead time, pipeline health, and bottlenecks.
- Participate in the Jira Change Control Board and assess configuration-change risks.
- Create documentation, training, and platform enablement materials.
- Handle configuration requests, JQL filters, role and privilege assignments, and automation rules.
- Partner with developers, Scrum Masters, engineering managers, design leads, and product leads to improve processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on advanced Jira and Confluence administration experience in an enterprise engineering environment supporting 500+ users.
- Proficiency with Jira Query Language (JQL) and basic SQL or equivalent database queries.
- Experience integrating AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, Atlassian Rovo, or GitHub Copilot into product development workflows.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Lean, Scrum, SAFe, and portfolio-level planning.
- Knowledge of software development and product development lifecycles, release management, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure deployment models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jira Service Management, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and Faros.ai.
- Ability to extend Atlassian functionality through scripting, macros, and API automation.
- Advanced troubleshooting using application and configuration event logs.
- Strong written and verbal communication and ability to synthesize complex technical conditions.
- Experience designing AI-augmented workflows, including automated ticket enrichment, AI-driven sprint retrospectives, or LLM-assisted reporting.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary: $108,000–$149,000 CAD.
