Senior Engineer - Fabric Gateway

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own critical Fabric Gateway systems from the ground up.
• Lead architecture decisions for distributed systems that are fast, reliable, and correct at scale.
• Drive technical direction and make high-leverage decisions that establish team-wide patterns.
• Own observability, performance, and reliability end to end, including SLA targets, monitoring, and on-call.
• Collaborate with engineering management and product management to scope milestones, prioritize work, and iterate toward Early Access and general availability.
• Participate in design and code reviews, raise engineering standards, and mentor fellow engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building infrastructure-level or platform software in cloud-native or SaaS environments.
• Proven 0-to-1 track record taking systems from concept to production and operating them at scale.
• Deep systems design expertise, including distributed systems that handle high throughput, remain resilient under load, and scale horizontally.
• Proficiency in Go.
• Strong systems programming and performance-sensitive coding fundamentals.
• Knowledge of security primitives including mTLS, JWT, OAuth 2.0, and RBAC/ABAC.
• High ownership of reliability, performance, and security.
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience building or extending platform or gateway products.
• Familiarity with HTTP/2, gRPC, and WebSockets.
• Kubernetes-native deployment experience with Helm, operators, and CRDs.
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure or developer tooling projects.
• Experience in an early-stage 0-to-1 environment within a larger company.
