Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and evolve backend services and APIs connecting Phantom Cash to blockchains.
- Apply systems thinking and product pragmatism to balance reliability, quality, and delivery speed.
- Communicate across pods, document rigorously, and raise the engineering bar through execution and mentorship.
- Help make Phantom Cash dependable, seamless, and scalable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Pragmatic, results-oriented engineering mindset focused on user impact.
- Proactive and outcome-oriented approach to anticipating problems and completing features.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Node.js and NestJS at scale.
- Experience with event-driven design, including queues, retries, and idempotency.
- Experience designing REST APIs, including versioning, pagination, error models, authentication, and rate limiting.
- Understanding of client-server architecture, state-management trade-offs, and latency budgets.
- Knowledge of distributed-systems fundamentals, including concurrency, ordering, retries, and data consistency.
Nice to Have
- Kubernetes and AWS operations experience.
- CI/CD, observability, and on-call ownership experience.
- Deep interest in crypto, wallets, blockchain protocols, and security practices.
- Hands-on experience in crypto or fintech, including exchanges, wallets, payment rails, or ledgers.
- Understanding of smart contracts and blockchain protocols, including interactions between on-chain programs and off-chain services.
- Blockchain integration experience, preferably with Solana; EVM experience is acceptable.
- Experience shipping high-quality products in mature engineering organizations.
