Responsibilities
- Lead ambiguous, cross-team projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Set technical strategy and make architectural decisions for systems spanning teams and product areas.
- Identify cross-team gaps and drive strategies to address them.
- Build, test, and continuously deploy software.
- Create and review technical specifications and maintain high engineering-quality standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, internal customers, and stakeholders.
- Mentor and sponsor engineers across the organization.
- Investigate production issues, improve reliability, and support services as needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Production experience with Python.
- Experience leading complex, multi-team technical projects to successful outcomes.
- Ability to set technical direction and gain cross-functional buy-in.
- Strong coding fundamentals and ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
- Strong product and systems judgment in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
- Experience working effectively on a remote team, including strong asynchronous and written communication.
- Ability to mentor, sponsor, and develop other engineers.
- Remote employment in the United States, limited to CA, GA, NY, NC, TN, TX, and WA.
Nice to Have
- Vue.js production experience.
- Experience with accounting systems, double-entry bookkeeping, or revenue recognition.
- Familiarity with agentic or AI-assisted systems in production.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external systems, such as payment processors.
- Background in accounting, fintech, or related fields.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base pay range: $200,000–$240,000 in most remote locations.
- Base pay range: $230,000–$280,000 in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY.
