Staff Engineer, Support Experiences

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production systems emphasizing extensibility, reliability, and usability.
• Write and review code regularly while setting and elevating engineering standards.
• Build high-quality end-to-end product experiences centered on user needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and navigate organizational complexity.
• Partner with Engineering Management, Product Managers, and company leaders to define and pursue long-term vision.
• Unblock execution across short- and long-term roadmaps, balancing business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Teach and mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional backend or full-stack development experience, including active code writing and review.
• Experience setting and executing long-term technical strategy for a large product area.
• Ability to prioritize competing requirements and stakeholders while iteratively shipping product features.
• Strong alignment, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Proven record of contributing meaningfully to the growth of other engineers.
• User empathy and a customer-centric approach to problem-solving and product development.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience building software systems for customer support or operations organizations.
• Experience leading projects across multiple teams and time zones.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, Java, and React.
• Experience designing, deploying, and owning agentic LLM solutions, including multi-step orchestrators and tool use/function calling, for complex customer support or internal workflow automation.
