Senior Manager, Platform Management
Leads the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Airbnb’s global guest payments platform, including payment methods, refunds, installments, and processing resilience. The role manages senior platform managers and requires extensive payments product management experience, cross-functional leadership, and global product expertise.

Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy and roadmap for guest payments, including pay-ins, refunds, payment plans, payment methods, and processing resilience.
- Partner with engineering on redundancy, vaulting, processor performance, optimization, and availability across the payment funnel.
- Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept and feasibility analysis through execution, launch, and post-launch optimization.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Design, Product Marketing, Platform Risk, Compliance, Legal, Tax, and Payments Operations.
- Manage dependencies, stakeholder expectations, communications, and presentations to senior leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of senior platform managers.
- Contribute to broader payments platform strategy through insights on competition, emerging technology, and consumer trends.
- Define and monitor product metrics to ensure quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- 12+ years of product management experience with inbound and outbound money movement within payments, finance, or a heavily transactional company.
- Deep understanding of product management and stakeholder needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to challenge decisions and build collaborative partnerships.
- Experience working with Legal, Tax, Compliance, Risk, and Payments Operations teams.
- Direct experience working with engineering teams.
- Ability to synthesize complex, unstructured information into clear requirements.
- Experience building products for different countries and cultures.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments with changing needs and limited resources.

- Experience at both startups and large, scaled organizations.
- Experience with global and local payment methods beyond credit cards.
- Experience across Payments, Risk, and Compliance systems and tools.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $232,000–$282,000 USD annually.
- May also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
