Forward Deployed Software Engineer - AUS Government
Forward deployed software engineers partner with customers to solve high-impact operational problems using large-scale data and custom software. The role requires strong coding and analytical skills, collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, independent execution, and an active security clearance.

Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand complex operational problems and design and implement data-driven solutions.
- Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects with minimal supervision.
- Discuss architecture with engineers and customer stakeholders.
- Work with large-scale data, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
- Build custom web applications and other technical solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, including customers, product teams, and Deployment Strategists.
- Establish strategy for projects and teams, make independent decisions, and continuously learn.
- Travel to client sites as needed; 25–50% travel may be required depending on the team and location.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience or interest in using large-scale data to solve business problems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
- Comfort working in rapidly changing environments with evolving objectives and iterative user feedback.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Active security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites as needed.
