Forward Deployed Engineer
Own end-to-end customer deployments by mapping healthcare workflows, building production integrations, and configuring AI agents. Requires 5+ years of production engineering experience, strong Python and API skills, customer-facing communication, and comfort working in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities
- Embed with new and existing customer practices remotely and on-site to map prior authorization, referral, and related workflows.
- Build and own integrations connecting AI agents to customer systems, including EHR APIs, payer portals, fax and EDI, document intake, and practice software.
- Configure and extend the agent platform, including ontology, prompts, tools, guardrails, and escalation paths; turn successful approaches into reusable patterns.
- Debug production issues across data, prompts, APIs, UI, and human workflows.
- Serve as the technical voice in customer conversations and translate between clinical-operations and engineering requirements.
- Decide what to build, configure, or decline, and share deployment learnings with product and platform teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years shipping production code in a commercial engineering role.
- Fluent in Python.
- Proficient with SQL, REST APIs, and at least one full-stack or front-end framework.
- Experience delivering in ambiguous environments, such as an early-stage startup, consulting, applied research, or operations-heavy role.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including leading working sessions with non-technical stakeholders and producing concise specifications.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
Nice-to-haves
- Healthcare experience with EHRs, claims and EDI, HL7/FHIR, payer portals, revenue cycle management, or prior authorization workflows.
- Production experience with LLMs or agent frameworks, including prompt design, evaluations, tool use, retrieval, and guardrails.
- Integration experience with OAuth flows, webhooks, browser automation, PDF parsing, and document parsing.
- Experience as an embedded engineer working directly with enterprise customers.
