Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle, including pre-sales and account technical leadership.
- Educate, empower, train, and onboard public-sector prospects and customers on the Cloudflare platform.
- Discover technical requirements and qualify prospect and customer use cases.
- Lead product demonstrations and identify and design best-fit solutions.
- Collaborate on proofs of concept (PoCs).
- Advise existing customers on technical best practices, Cloudflare product implementation, and strategic technology planning.
- Create technical documentation and provide product training.
- Act as a customer advocate, collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
- Manage projects, deadlines, priorities, relationships, and customer outcomes.
- Travel approximately 35–45% for customer and prospect meetings, conferences, industry events, and team collaboration.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role supporting the US Federal Government.
- Understanding of Internet technologies, including OSI Model layers 1–7, TCP/UDP routing, authoritative and recursive DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
- Familiarity with SASE frameworks and technologies such as Secure Web Gateway, CASB, DLP, and SD-WAN.
- Experience with on-premises infrastructure and networking configurations, including legacy systems or methodologies.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to audiences ranging from systems engineers and developers to IT managers and C-level executives.
- Strong project management, relationship-building, collaboration, communication, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Curiosity, continuous-learning mindset, and ability to teach technical concepts.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with command-line interfaces, REST APIs, and browser web inspectors for analyzing HTTP requests and responses.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience serving the US Department of Defense or DISA market segment.
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Architect certification.
