Senior Customer Engineer, Commercial
Owns the technical customer relationship from discovery through adoption, renewal, and expansion while partnering with sales on architectures, demonstrations, onboarding, and value realization. The role combines broad security, networking, cloud, and enterprise architecture expertise with quota accountability and customer-facing communication.

Responsibilities
Technical Validation
- Partner with Account Executives to lead technical discovery, build bespoke architectures, and deliver product demonstrations and proofs of concept across security, networking, and developer platforms.
Customer Adoption and Value Realization
- Lead or oversee technical onboarding and implementation.
- Serve as the primary executive and engineering contact for customers.
- Own discovery, demonstrations, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategy with Account Executives.
- Monitor customer health scores and telemetry to support rapid time-to-value and resolve integration bottlenecks.
Commercial Accountability and Expansion
- Carry a variable quota tied to new business acquisition and/or account growth.
- Drive platform adoption, revenue retention, and strategic cross-sell and upsell opportunities using product usage data.
- Lead technical quarterly business reviews and translate platform capabilities into return on investment for C-level executives.
Trusted Advisory
- Maintain deep technical relationships with stakeholders throughout onboarding, maturity, renewal, and expansion.
AI Orchestration and Workflow Automation
- Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate routine tasks such as RFP and security questionnaire responses, sandbox provisioning, and basic telemetry monitoring.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, customer engineering, sales engineering, or forward-deployed engineering.
- Broad technical expertise in web security, networking, routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
- Experience operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment.
- Understanding of SaaS metrics, business value translation, and enterprise sales cycles.
- Exceptional presentation and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to connect technical implementation details with C-suite business strategy.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience building, deploying, or architecting solutions with Workers AI, AI Gateway, or Vectorize.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, large language model orchestration, or retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for integration scripts, API connectors, and edge computing functions.

- For Bay Area-based hires: estimated annual salary of $212,000.00–$292,000.00, including on-target incentive compensation under the Sales Compensation Plan.
