Senior Solutions Engineer, Public Sector Federal
Provides technical leadership for Cloudflare’s federal public-sector sales and customer engagements, including discovery, demonstrations, solution design, proofs of concept, onboarding, and strategic guidance. Requires federal-government customer-facing experience, strong networking and security knowledge, and customer communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead throughout the sales cycle and provide account technical leadership for Public Sector prospects and customers.
- Educate customers, identify best-fit Cloudflare solutions, and support onboarding through video conferences or in-person sessions.
- Create technical documentation and advise customers on long-term technology strategy.
- Qualify prospect and customer use cases, discover technical requirements, lead demonstrations, design solutions, and collaborate on proofs of concept.
- Advise existing customers on technical best practices, Cloudflare product implementation, and strategic guidance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support teams.
- Attend prospect and customer meetings, conferences, and industry events; travel approximately 35–45%.
- Translate technical concepts for systems engineers, developers, IT managers, and C-level audiences.
- Manage projects, deadlines, and competing priorities while contributing to internal and external training and documentation.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role supporting the US Federal Government.
- Understanding of internet technologies, including OSI Model layers 1–7, routing, TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
- Familiarity with SASE frameworks and technologies such as Secure Web Gateway, CASB, DLP, and SD-WAN.
- Experience with on-premise infrastructure and networking configurations, including legacy systems.
- Technical curiosity, communication, teaching, collaboration, mentorship, project management, relationship-building, and emotional intelligence.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with command-line interfaces, RESTful APIs, and browser web inspectors.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience serving the US Department of Defense or DISA market segment.
- Graduate-level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Architect certification.

- Washington-based hires: estimated annual salary of $211,000–$257,000.
