Senior Partner Engineer - Hardware Partnerships
Leads technical partnerships and integration projects with hardware manufacturers, guiding SDK adoption, architecture, certification, and launch. Responsibilities
- Build trusted technical partnerships with strategic hardware manufacturers, including companies developing connected audio products.
- Lead technical integration projects from planning through launch, helping partners adopt Spotify's Core Playback SDK.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to align priorities, remove blockers, and deliver high-quality partner experiences.
- Drive technical discussions, architecture reviews, workshops, and implementation planning with internal and external stakeholders.
- Write technical proposals, RFCs, and design documentation to support informed engineering decisions.
- Monitor project health, identify risks, and coordinate solutions across multiple engineering teams.
- Investigate and resolve complex SDK, API, and integration challenges, contributing code when appropriate.
- Improve tools, processes, and developer experience that enable partners to build with Spotify more effectively.
- Identify opportunities to simplify integrations and scale partner success across Spotify's hardware platform.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, partner engineering, developer relations, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Experience with software development, SDKs, APIs, distributed systems, or embedded technologies.
- Ability to read, understand, and contribute to production code while discussing technical architecture with engineers and technical partners.
- Experience working across organizational boundaries and building relationships with engineering teams and external partners.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and advance complex technical initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt technical explanations to different audiences.
Nice to Have
- Experience with consumer electronics, connected devices, smart home products, audio platforms, or hardware certification.
- Experience writing technical specifications, architecture proposals, or RFCs.
Work Arrangement
- The role is based in Stockholm.
- Hybrid flexibility is available, with some in-person meetings and the option to work from home.
