Director Of Engineering
Leads the Bangalore Spend engineering organization while owning the Accounting Integrations platform across Spend and Payroll. The role combines site leadership, team building, technical direction, operational excellence, and delivery of reliable integration infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead the Bangalore engineering hub, hiring, leveling, and developing a 25+ person organization.
- Establish team rituals, on-call processes, quality standards, and velocity tracking.
- Own the Accounting Integrations platform and roadmap for Spend and Payroll.
- Ship new integrations and create repeatable delivery pipelines, operational tooling, and quality standards.
- Improve execution by clarifying requirements, diagnosing issues early, and raising design and code review quality.
- Manage managers and individual contributors, mentoring engineering managers and transitioning leadership scope as the organization grows.
- Build operational excellence for integrations, including routing, retries, idempotency, reconciliation, data quality, observability, support, and SLAs.
- Partner with Product, Design, GTM, and Finance Operations to prioritize impact and measure outcomes.
- Establish reusable contracts, SDKs, tooling, and CI/CD standards.
- Serve as the site leader by setting goals, running calibration, addressing underperformance, and modeling hands-on leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including 2+ years managing managers or large multi-team organizations.
- Experience delivering platforms or integrations from 0 to 1 and scaling them with high reliability and throughput.
- Strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs/webhooks, and data modeling.
- Comfortable reviewing technical designs and pull requests.
- Experience building systems with monitoring, alerting, rate limits, retries, reconciliation, and clear SLOs/SLAs.
- Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, leveling, calibration, and performance management.
- Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into shipped outcomes while balancing speed and quality.

- Experience with accounting or ERP systems.
- Experience with travel content providers or financial data flows.
