Engineering Manager, Performance & Resilience
Leads a global engineering team responsible for performance testing, resilience, load-testing frameworks, realistic datasets, and distributed-system analysis for Auth0. Requires people-management experience, full-stack architecture knowledge, cloud and container expertise, and familiarity with chaos engineering.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, tech leads, product owners, security engineers, and operations engineers to implement performance and resilience best practices.
- Communicate and organize cross-team projects with high business impact.
- Define the team's strategic direction and roadmap.
- Own the evolution of the team's load-testing framework, improving modularity, reusability, scalability, and developer experience across Auth0 services.
- Lead test dataset generation strategy and execution using realistic, representative data that reflects production traffic patterns and user behavior.
- Use monitoring tools to identify problems and resolve or escalate them to service teams.
- Develop backend frameworks and tools for organization-wide use at scale.
- Participate in incident root-cause analysis to continuously improve testing.
- Provide technical guidance to performance engineers within the quality domain.
- Manage a global team by setting expectations, removing blockers, fostering collaboration, hiring, coaching, and supporting career development.
Requirements
- Stakeholder management experience, including alignment, prioritization, communication, and incorporating feedback.
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and lead a team through shifting priorities.
- Prior management experience with a globally diverse team.
- Experience designing or significantly improving load-testing frameworks such as k6, Gatling, Locust, or similar, including extensibility, test-data management, and CI/CD integration.
- Hands-on experience with synthetic data generation, production-data masking or anonymization, and realistic load-distribution datasets.
- Experience with APM or observability tools, or analyzing distributed-system performance bottlenecks.
- Software architecture experience across the full stack, including design and implementation.
- Understanding of microservices.
- Cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and key-value datastores.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem, including Node.js and/or TypeScript.
- Experience with chaos-engineering tools such as Chaos Toolkit, Gremlin, or AWS Fault Injection Service.
