- Drive initiatives that deliver value to users while ensuring software is high quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable.
- Help the team navigate trade-offs and align on short- and long-term approaches across browser user experiences.
- Communicate team goals, project scope and risks, and own delivery against clear timelines.
- Build and iterate on engineering processes that support a high-performing team.
- Conduct regular one-on-ones covering technical work and professional development; provide direct performance feedback.
- Support and empower developers throughout the developer lifecycle.
- Create an inclusive environment that engages and challenges team members.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams.
- Hire, mentor, empower, develop, and delegate to geographically distributed team members.
Requirements
- 4+ years leading engineers in a software development environment and working across multiple distributed teams.
- Software engineering background enabling technical decision-making and collaboration with engineers at all levels.
- Experience leading multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience with frontend platform initiatives such as design systems and frontend architectural improvements.
- Track record of delivering frontend experiences for user-facing products.
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proven ability to lead and ship sophisticated user-facing experiences on time, using data to inform timelines.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to resolve problems, manage risk, lead change, and facilitate collaborative decision-making.
- Experience communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities.
- Desire to grow as a manager and develop others, achieving results through the team.
- Commitment to welcoming differences, building relationships, practicing responsible participation, and demonstrating grit.

- Annual salary range of $149,000–$220,000.
