Director, Lifecycle Marketing

Leads and modernizes a high-volume B2C lifecycle marketing program across email, push, and SMS, while building partnerships, personalization, measurement, and multi-brand infrastructure. The role manages a small team and remains hands-on with platforms, data, experimentation, and troubleshooting.

Build what's next

  • Set the vision for lifecycle marketing and redesign the end-to-end renter lifecycle program.
  • Modernize email, push, and SMS with data science, machine learning, segmentation, and personalization.
  • Build a lifecycle partnerships program from the ground up, including strategy, operating model, measurement, and execution.
  • Establish lifecycle infrastructure for a multi-brand portfolio and design cross-sell programs.

Run the program

  • Set channel strategy and own revenue and volume forecasts, budget, contribution, growth, and risk planning.
  • Develop segmented, personalized, forecast-driven messaging frameworks that balance revenue, deliverability, frequency, and renter experience.
  • Drive experimentation, holdout-based measurement, and continuous learning.

Lead analytics and execution

  • Partner with Marketing Analytics, MarTech, Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Design to identify growth levers and test solutions.
  • Define measurement systems for revenue, program performance, channel health, and long-term outlook.
  • Build and troubleshoot journeys, templates, dynamic content, and audience logic directly.
  • Use SQL for analysis and investigate engagement, conversion, deliverability, and send-volume anomalies to root cause.

Lead and align

  • Manage and develop a team of two marketers.
  • Represent lifecycle marketing with senior leadership and communicate priorities, risks, and tradeoffs.
  • Manage the relationship with Iterable and maximize use of its functionality.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in lifecycle, engagement, or email marketing.
  • Expert command of an enterprise marketing automation platform such as Iterable or Braze.
  • Deep B2C and direct-to-consumer lifecycle marketing experience.
  • Experience building programs from the ground up or transforming existing programs, with hands-on execution.
  • Strong SQL and analytical skills.
  • Technical fluency with data feeds, events, and APIs supporting lifecycle programs.
  • Hands-on HTML and CSS experience for email.
  • Experience debugging alongside engineering teams and investigating data anomalies to root cause.
  • Experience managing and developing marketers.

Nice to Have

  • Marketplace or high-volume consumer technology experience.
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration or ETL tools such as Airflow.
  • Familiarity with email and SMS compliance requirements.

Compensation

  • US total target compensation varies by zone:
    • Zone 1: $182,000–$235,000 TTC, including $160,000–$199,000 base salary, plus equity.
    • Zone 2: $168,000–$217,000 TTC, including $147,000–$184,000 base salary, plus equity.
    • Zone 3: $154,000–$200,000 TTC, including $135,000–$170,000 base salary, plus equity.
