Responsibilities
- Build and design an integrated search platform written in Java.
- Collaborate on technical decisions and build scalable, customer-focused systems.
- Lead projects and own subsystems.
- Help determine the team’s roadmap and system architecture.
- Review code and project designs, participate in team meetings, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining industrial-strength backend software in a complex codebase.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages and techniques.
- Experience developing distributed systems, cloud services, and SaaS products.
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
- Strong ownership from initial design through production maintenance.
- Growth mindset and ability to learn quickly through challenges, reflection, and feedback.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range in Canada: $158,000–$220,000 CAD.
