Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend systems powering marketing capabilities, including targeting and CRM messaging platforms.
- Develop real-time streaming and batch data ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Build segment evaluation and matching services for downstream consumers.
- Develop high-volume, reliable messaging and delivery pipelines for personalized sends.
- Contribute to shared, composable platform foundations and APIs, with emphasis on observability, testing, and uptime.
- Architect, build, and maintain backend applications with clean code.
- Shape the technical direction and roadmap of targeting and CRM platforms.
- Design and operate scalable distributed services and data pipelines.
- Own high-visibility platform components from planning and decision-making through shipping and maintenance.
- Collaborate across teams and functions to drive consensus and align goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience with a proven track record of success.
- Expertise in Ruby and Go; Python experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of Rails or Pandas.
- Experience designing scalable, reliable distributed systems.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Proven ability in rigorous unit testing and practical problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, including cross-functional collaboration and influence.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base pay range for Canadian candidates: CA$168,000–CA$177,500.
- Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
