Audit Methodology Engineer

Responsibilities

Methodology Management

• Define the structure and logic for Fieldguide’s out-of-the-box methodology content with methodology partners.
• Translate audit standards into methodology content and audit procedures within the platform.
• Structure guidance from US GAAS, PCAOB standards, and other relevant frameworks into usable, organized content.
• Identify industry procedures, testing approaches, internal control testing, and practice guidance to incorporate into methodology.
• Manage and oversee methodology content and engagement template ingestion and review to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Review and refine methodology and engagement templates using auditor feedback from real-world usage.

AI Collaboration

• Partner with AI architects and engineers to translate professional standards and practitioner judgment into prompts, workflows, and guardrails for methodology and testing agents.
• Work with product teams to turn audit standards and industry guidance into functional specifications and user workflows.

Implementation and Maintenance

• Support financial audit implementation teams with bespoke methodology builds, customization, and annual updates.
• Apply quality control rigor to methodologies and customizations through version control, review and approval processes, and change documentation.
• Monitor regulatory and industry developments and advise on product implications.
• Maintain and evolve the audit knowledge base as standards and guidance change.

Requirements

• CPA required.
• 5+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong expertise in AICPA auditing standards (GAAS), PCAOB standards, and audit methodology.
• Experience with audit technology, automation, or AI-enabled tools; audit methodologies, templates, or workpapers.
• Working knowledge of quality control and quality management standards, including SQMS 1 and PCAOB QC standards, as they relate to methodology development and audit documentation.
• Ability to translate professional standards into structured workflows and logic.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams.
• Interest in the intersection of audit, data, and AI.
