FP&A Manager, Product

The FP&A Manager will lead financial planning for Engineering, Product, and Design, overseeing OpEx, headcount, infrastructure economics, forecasting, and financial controls. The role requires advanced modeling skills and the ability to partner effectively with technical leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Own OpEx and headcount budgets across Engineering, Product, and Design, aligning investments with company strategy and margin targets.
  • Build bottoms-up headcount models by function and level, and partner with Engineering leaders on hiring plans.
  • Forecast cloud hosting, AI/compute, internal tooling, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems costs.
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, capitalizable versus expensed R&D, and vendor investments.
  • Lead monthly budget-versus-actuals reviews, automate reporting, improve accrual accuracy, and surface actionable insights.
  • Implement scalable approval workflows for headcount, vendor spend, and enterprise tooling.
  • Use automation and AI to reduce manual review and bottlenecks.

Requirements

  • Experience partnering with Engineering leaders and supporting technical and corporate teams.
  • Understanding of cloud economics, AI/compute scaling, enterprise tooling, and infrastructure and vendor cost drivers.
  • Experience managing complex workforce planning and headcount models across multiple departments.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, assumptions, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Strong attention to forecasting precision, accrual accuracy, and scalable financial processes.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $180,000–$220,000 annually in San Francisco, CA.
