Manager, Technical & Operational Accounting

Manages operational accounting for complex financing, investment, equity, and capital arrangements, translating technical U.S. GAAP conclusions into close processes, disclosures, controls, and audit-ready documentation. Responsibilities

  • Own operational accounting for complex financing, investment, equity, and capital arrangements, including classification, measurement, presentation, disclosures, and recurring close processes.
  • Lead day-one and recurring accounting for non-standard transactions, including fair-value measurements, equity-method investments, debt and equity securities, warrants, noncontrolling interests, and hypothetical liquidation at book value allocations.
  • Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve complex accounting matters during monthly and quarterly close.
  • Build processes for impairment indicators and asset recoverability across goodwill, intangible assets, long-lived asset groups, equity-method investments, nonmarketable equity investments, and debt securities.
  • Coordinate valuations with Technical Accounting and valuation specialists.
  • Lead audit support and prepare schedules, memoranda, reconciliations, valuation support, and financial statement tie-outs.
  • Analyze significant equity and compensation awards and coordinate accurate accounting and booking with Equity Administration and Controllership.
  • Partner with Tax, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Treasury, Legal, Strategic Finance, FP&A, Equity, valuation specialists, and external auditors.
  • Strengthen SOX/ICFR readiness, impairment monitoring, audit trails, tie-outs, and subsequent-event procedures.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and translate guidance into policies, implementation plans, disclosures, reporting calendars, and scalable processes.
  • Develop accounting policies, playbooks, decision frameworks, automation, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • CPA, CA, equivalent accounting qualification, or comparable demonstrated technical-accounting expertise.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, public accounting, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting.
  • Broad U.S. GAAP expertise across corporate accounting, financial instruments, consolidation, business combinations, equity-method investments, debt and equity securities, impairment, fair value, financial statement presentation, and complex ownership structures.
  • Experience applying ASC 320, ASC 321, ASC 323, ASC 326, ASC 350, ASC 360, ASC 470, ASC 480, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 815, ASC 820, and other applicable guidance.
  • Experience developing or reviewing audit-ready technical memoranda, implementing conclusions in recurring operations, and working with external auditors.
  • Experience with close and reporting, acquisitions or investments, complex ownership structures, consolidation, or impairment assessments.
  • Understanding of how technical decisions affect journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, significant estimates, treasury activity, controls, and external reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize consequential workstreams and maintain financial reporting integrity.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub, accounting rules engines, automated subledgers, ERP implementations, or similar source-to-general-ledger systems.
