Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer will build and operate secure, scalable Node.js services for Auth0’s Core Identity platform. The role focuses on distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, reliability, and integrating identity features for a global customer base.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a founding engineer for the Core Frontier team in Bengaluru, establishing technical standards and engineering culture while collaborating with global teams in Europe and North America.
- Build and design innovative features that extend Auth0’s platform.
- Improve the technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of systems, and advocate for engineering best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA to deliver customer-focused features and maintain a unified technical vision.
- Develop expertise in identity, security, cloud technologies, and distributed systems.
- Mentor and support other engineers while contributing to technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain the health and reliability of critical services.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent.
- Proficiency designing and building services with Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Experience creating and maintaining public, secure APIs and front ends.
- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Product-oriented mindset with the ability to understand customer needs and collaborate on effective solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Knowledge of security engineering principles and application security best practices.
