Own the technical success of video-data customers while building scalable tooling and platform capabilities for dataset curation, processing, quality measurement, and delivery. The role requires 3+ years of engineering experience, media-data expertise, customer-facing communication, and end-to-end ownership in an ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities
- Own video customer engagements end to end, from feasibility through implementation, delivery, and post-delivery support.
- Translate customer model-development goals into executable technical plans with clear acceptance criteria.
- Build and operate systems for processing, analyzing, characterizing, quality-checking, and delivering large video datasets.
- Develop tooling that turns raw footage into measurable, describable, and sellable datasets.
- Identify recurring customer requirements that should become shared platform capabilities and help design and build them.
- Create video technical playbooks, quality standards, and reusable tooling to increase delivery capacity.
- Collaborate with product, platform engineering, Data Lab, commercial teams, partners, and customers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional engineering experience.
- Meaningful experience working with customers or external technical stakeholders.
- Direct experience with media data, preferably video.
- Experience building and operating systems that process, analyze, or deliver data at scale.
- Strong customer-facing communication, including requirements translation, trade-off communication, and technical relationship building.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from problem definition through implementation, validation, and support.
- Comfort with ambiguity, multiple concurrent priorities, and time-sensitive customer work.
Nice-to-Haves
- Video processing at scale, including codecs, transcoding, FFmpeg, shot detection, frame sampling, or perceptual quality measurement.
- Early-stage startup or broad-ownership engineering experience.
- Python and SQL.
- Search, vector embeddings, semantic retrieval, or ML-assisted data curation.
- Evaluation or deployment of vision-language models, including evaluation harnesses.
- Product engineering experience or a strong product mindset.
- Experience with AWS, Databricks, Dagster, or Vercel.
