Responsibilities
- Design and deliver platform solutions that benefit multiple teams and create a seamless user experience.
- Lead technical architecture and coordinate across product leadership, engineering leadership, and technical workstreams.
- Solve complex engineering challenges involving payments, data consistency, permissions, and scale.
- Own projects from problem definition through successful implementation.
- Lead and mentor engineers across Spend Management.
- Develop deep expertise in Rippling Spend and contribute to its continued growth.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong backend development and distributed systems experience.
- Proven ability to design large-scale, fault-tolerant systems from scratch.
- Understanding of consistency and availability trade-offs, including when eventual consistency is insufficient.
- High agency and ability to identify business problems, scope technical solutions, and execute independently.
- Ability to quickly learn complex treasury and money movement domains.
- Deep proficiency in a modern backend language such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Experience with complex SQL and NoSQL data modeling.
