Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable distributed systems, backend services, APIs, and data-intensive systems for the Marketplace Health Engine.
- Shape technical strategy and lead initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and Operations to improve marketplace efficiency, provider utilization, and patient access.
- Drive projects end-to-end from discovery and design through implementation, launch, and post-launch support.
- Solve complex marketplace, platform, and large-scale operational problems with measurable impact.
- Mentor engineers and align technical and non-technical stakeholders around a shared vision.
- Participate in on-call support and independently investigate and resolve complex issues.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related professional software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
- Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and influencing technical strategy.
- Experience designing backend services, APIs, and data-intensive systems; AWS experience preferred.
- Experience partnering with Product and Data to deliver business outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-alignment skills.
- Experience driving software projects through the full lifecycle.
Nice-to-haves
- Startup experience.
- Experience developing SaaS applications on Amazon Web Services.
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and Kafka.
- Experience with on-call operations and deep technical troubleshooting.
- Experience building products with high reliability or accuracy requirements.
