Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural vision and strategy for designing and delivering enterprise APIs and customer functionality.
- Orchestrate and lead major technical projects across teams.
- Design, architect, code, and document large-scale distributed systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers on engineering practices and technical leadership.
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and engineering teams to define and improve platform architecture.
- Drive technical decisions while balancing simplicity, flexibility, reliability, and performance.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain service availability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working on large-scale systems or services.
- Strong architectural and security knowledge, with experience designing, implementing, and evolving complex distributed systems.
- Experience collaborating successfully with external teams on technical projects.
- Experience with Node.js and JavaScript or TypeScript for scalable backend services and public and internal APIs.
- Experience building full-stack applications and understanding React.
- Understanding of SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, including performance optimization under load.
- Experience with containerization and cloud environments.
- Strong mentoring and communication skills.
