Technical Content Specialist

Creates interactive LMS courses, documentation, videos, and hands-on cybersecurity exercises that help customers and internal teams use Censys products effectively. Requires 2+ years in technical writing, instructional design, or related content development, plus experience with eLearning and technical products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, write, and manage interactive courses and learning paths in the Censys Academy LMS, from goals and structure through publication.
  • Convert instructor-led training into engaging, self-paced eLearning.
  • Design asynchronous capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises with subject matter experts.
  • Create, edit, and publish accurate product documentation.
  • Maintain technical content and email onboarding programs so they reflect current product functionality.
  • Produce video content about feature releases, customer personas, and real-world product use cases.
  • Select the most effective format for each learning objective, including documentation, video, interactive walkthroughs, and hands-on exercises.
  • Explain how Censys supports attack surface management, critical infrastructure monitoring, threat hunting, and threat intelligence workflows.
  • Participate early in feature development and testing to create enablement content and advocate for user-experience improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success teams to validate content and align it with customer needs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, content development, or a related content or enablement role, ideally in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity.
  • Experience building, structuring, and publishing content for an LMS or eLearning platform.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to translate complex technical product functionality into clear, engaging content.
  • Experience producing or coordinating video content from scripting through final production.
  • Ability to learn technical, security-focused products deeply and translate that knowledge into teachable content.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with attack surface management, critical infrastructure monitoring, threat hunting, or threat intelligence.
  • Experience designing CTF exercises or other hands-on, scenario-based technical training.
  • Experience with video editing and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate or Camtasia.
  • Experience converting instructor-led training into self-paced digital content.
  • Familiarity with product documentation tools and publishing workflows.

Compensation

  • United States salary ranges: $127,000-$170,000 USD for San Francisco, Seattle, and New York City; $105,000-$144,000 USD for other US locations.
  • Bonus eligibility and equity are included.
  • Remote pay is localized according to employee work location at 83%-100% of the applicable range.
