Manager, Engineering - Frontend

Leads the Frontend Platform team while contributing technically to shared UI infrastructure, component systems, and data/reporting capabilities. The role requires engineering management experience, strong frontend expertise, and a player/coach approach to team growth and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Frontend Platform team, owning the health, delivery, and direction of shared frontend infrastructure and data/reporting systems.
  • Contribute technically through code reviews, pairing, architectural input, and critical engineering work.
  • Own and evolve the shared component system, including the design system, data grids, reporting frameworks, and shared UI infrastructure.
  • Partner with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and deliver the roadmap.
  • Set a high bar for frontend quality, performance, and developer experience.
  • Grow the team through coaching, hiring, and creating an environment where engineers can do their best work.
  • Drive technical design reviews and advocate for engineering-specific roadmap items.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience with a strong individual-contributor background.
  • Experience working in a player/coach model, leading while shipping technically.
  • Deep frontend expertise, including StimulusJS, Hotwire, component systems, and modern frontend tooling.
  • Experience building or owning shared component libraries or design systems.
  • Familiarity with scalable data and reporting systems.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product, design, and platform teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $174,000–$237,100 CAD.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
