Leads a team of 4–8 software engineers building and maintaining reliable database and infrastructure systems for Datadog’s OrgStore platform. The role combines people management, technical roadmap ownership, code and design leadership, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor a diverse team of 4–8 software engineers, fostering career growth and high team performance.
- Drive the technical roadmap with the team, product managers, and support teams, aligning it with company objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Engage strategically with complex technical problems and help produce well-defined, actionable plans.
- Contribute to and review code, lead design decisions, and participate in a well-scoped on-call rotation.
- Understand broader business context to align technical decisions with business goals, support long-term objectives, and drive innovation.
- Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of the engineering management team.
Requirements
- Experience building developer tools, running databases, and maintaining infrastructure with a focus on reliability and fault tolerance.
- Proven ability to manage team dynamics, set goals, provide feedback, and foster a positive, productive work environment.
- Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and overseeing multiple software engineering projects.
- Excellent communication skills with team members, stakeholders, and upper management.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output.
