Forward Deployed Engineer - Supply Chain Solutions

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites to map end-to-end supply chain processes, audit legacy systems, identify financial leaks, and translate operational constraints into technical architectures.
• Design and build production solutions spanning customer applications, internal tools, APIs, data pipelines, decision-support systems, and workflow automations.
• Integrate with enterprise resource planning, warehouse management, and transportation management systems, including SAP, Oracle, and NetSuite.
• Design and deploy production-grade AI applications, agentic LLM workflows, and decision engines.
• Apply optimization algorithms and analytical methods to logistics problems including routing, mode selection, inventory positioning, container utilization, consolidation, and exception prioritization.
• Own high-velocity deployment sprints from discovery and architecture through production deployment, operator adoption, and verified ROI measurement.
• Partner with Product and Platform Engineering teams to turn client solutions into reusable platform capabilities.
• Work with logistics teams at ports, cross-docks, and client sites to validate software, train users, and ensure adoption.
• Communicate technical trade-offs, system architecture, and financial outcomes to technical leaders and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building customer-facing or mission-critical applications.
• Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, SQL, REST or GraphQL APIs, relational databases, and event-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to build and integrate AI/ML solutions, LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, machine learning models, or mathematical optimization solvers.
• Strong skills in data modeling, ETL pipeline transformations, API integrations, and event-driven workflows across complex enterprise architectures.
• Willingness to work on-site with customers and travel to customer headquarters and logistics sites as needed.
• Ability to reason through messy data, operational dependencies, and economic trade-offs in high-ambiguity environments.
• High autonomy, a self-starter mentality, and a record of delivering end-to-end projects with measurable financial or operational impact.

Nice-to-Haves

• Domain knowledge in global supply chain, ocean or air freight, customs compliance, warehousing, inventory management, or trade financing.
• Operations Research experience, including linear programming, network optimization, route planning, or queueing theory.
• Enterprise implementation experience.
• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or Founding Engineer.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary range: $183,000–$230,000 USD.
• Compensation may also include bonus, equity, medical and dental benefits, and flexible time off.
• Up to 50% travel is required.
