Market Manager - Vacation Rental
Manages professional host accounts and grows high-quality vacation-rental supply across assigned Japanese markets. The role combines account management, sales acquisition, data-driven market optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and regular travel to host territories.

Responsibilities
- Build and manage professional host account relationships within vacation rental territories such as Kawaguchi-ko, Karuizawa, Izu, Hakuba, and Awaji.
- Manage accounts to meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Analyze data and use data-driven recommendations to identify and act on strategic opportunities that increase sales.
- Prospect and onboard high-quality supply in the assigned geography.
- Maintain a baseline understanding of technical integrations with software partners to provide appropriate client support.
- Represent Airbnb in external meetings with professional hosts.
- Educate clients about significant product changes and relay product and policy feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Hold regular optimization calls and business reviews with clients.
- Develop strong, long-lasting partnerships.
- Develop deep knowledge of assigned geographic markets and serve as the internal and external source for local trends and market dynamics.
- Provide timely, efficient service to professional hosts, including occasional travel to the market for in-person support and guidance.
- Work cross-functionally with public policy, legal, communications, and customer support teams.
- Design, develop, and execute tailored engagement initiatives for the assigned territory.
- Support regional host community programs.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience in account management, partner support, and/or sales.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the hospitality or travel industry, particularly the online travel agency market, is a plus.
- Knowledge or experience in real estate is a plus.
- Experience or expertise in the homesharing business is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to the aligned market territory, typically once or twice per quarter.
- Proven ability to manage a leads pipeline and/or book of business.
- Proficiency with CRM software, including leads, opportunities, and other core objects; Salesforce and Mixmax experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and in person.
- Strong quantitative skills and ability to interpret and apply data in day-to-day work.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work strategically and tactically, execute in ambiguous environments, meet tight deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance short- and long-term initiatives.
- Passion for Airbnb, travel, and the sharing economy; being an Airbnb host is a plus.
- Proven cross-functional collaboration experience.
- Charismatic, resourceful, and self-sufficient approach.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
