Senior Software Engineer, Build Loop

Responsibilities
- Design and build Nest.js service scaffolding for new backend services in a next-generation monorepo.
- Implement paved paths, generators, and platform primitives that enable services to work on day one.
- Build interfaces allowing new services to run independently from the existing monolith.
- Own deployment for services and web applications on Cloudflare, including interoperability with AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure managed through Pulumi and Argo CD.
- Lead substantial codebase migrations into the monorepo and create repeatable migration recipes.
- Partner with product teams as platform customers, using adoption and user friction to guide priorities.
- Encode learnings into tooling, generators, and agent-assisted workflows.
- Contribute to engineering blogs, hiring processes, and internal hackathons.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years building and operating backend services in production.
- Experience designing backend service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership.
- Business-level English fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Experience extracting or bypassing functionality from large, heavily coupled codebases behind behavior-preserving contracts.
- Fluency with TypeScript and Node.js; comfort with edge runtimes.
- Experience with monorepo tooling at scale, such as Nx or Turborepo, and build-graph correctness.
- Experience with codebase migration engineering, including verifying generated output and preserving existing behavior.
- Platform engineering experience involving product-team customers and adoption measurement.
- Ability to work across cloud boundaries and evaluate latency and cost tradeoffs.
- Strong written technical communication.
- Proactive adoption and application of AI and emerging technologies.
