Design and scale hands-on learning programs for Vehicle Operations, translating technical and safety requirements into measurable onboarding, certification, and proficiency experiences. Requires 4+ years in learning or instructional design and the ability to collaborate with engineers, operators, and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

  • Design Vehicle Operations learning programs covering onboarding, foundational training, advanced technical skills, qualification, certification, and ongoing proficiency.
  • Partner with Vehicle Operations leaders, engineers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to identify capability gaps and define proficiency requirements.
  • Translate complex operational, technical, and safety requirements into practical, engaging learning experiences.
  • Create blended learning using instructor-led training, vehicle-based practice, simulations, scenarios, assessments, job aids, performance support, e-learning, documentation, presentations, and video.
  • Apply adult learning, learning science, needs analysis, and performance-based design to determine appropriate solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Leverage AI and emerging learning technologies to scale content development, personalize learning, enable on-demand coaching, and create simulations and performance-support experiences.
  • Build and maintain learning paths, curricula, facilitator and learner materials, assessments, job aids, and digital learning experiences.
  • Measure and improve learning effectiveness using learner feedback, proficiency data, operational performance, and business outcomes, with emphasis on safety, quality, readiness, and time to proficiency.
  • Manage projects and drive deliverables from concept through completion.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in learning experience design, instructional design, technical training, or learning program management.
  • Strong foundation in adult learning, instructional design, needs analysis, and learning assessment.
  • Experience with Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, or similar authoring tools.
  • Ability to translate complex business, technical, and operational requirements into structured learning solutions.
  • Experience developing training across multiple formats, including LMS content, e-learning, documentation, presentations, video, and instructor-led or hands-on learning.
  • Strong project management, communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and subject matter expert partnership skills.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and ability to quickly learn complex technical and operational domains.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and continuously improve learning experiences.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, automotive, robotics, hardware, manufacturing, logistics, field operations, or other safety-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with vehicle safety standards and operator onboarding.
  • Experience with Confluence, Google Workspace, LMS/LXP platforms, Ethena, Cornerstone, or similar learning technology ecosystems.
  • Experience designing technical certification, qualification, or proficiency programs.
  • Experience designing hands-on training, simulations, labs, or scenario-based learning.
  • Experience using generative AI for learning design and development.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Operations, Product, Safety, or technical teams.
  • Familiarity with operational metrics and performance-based learning measurement.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $120,000–$170,000 annually.
  • Eligible compensation may also include equity, health and other insurance coverage, 401(k) benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off.
