Senior Solution Engineer - Federal Public Sector
Senior Solution Engineer responsible for driving technical strategy and growth across Australian Federal Public Sector accounts in Canberra. The role leads discovery, solution architecture, executive presentations, demonstrations, and enterprise PoCs while partnering with sales and government customers.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales Executives to navigate and win complex sales cycles.
- Identify, foster, and develop technical and executive champions within Federal Public Sector accounts.
- Translate customer requirements, challenges, and mission outcomes into scalable Snowflake solutions.
- Demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology through whiteboarding, presentations, live demos, and enterprise Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
- Present Snowflake’s technology, roadmap, and vision to senior executive stakeholders and technical teams across government agencies.
- Maintain an understanding of the evolving data and AI landscape and competitive technologies.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to share customer feedback and refine product offerings.
Requirements
- Active Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1 or higher preferred), or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Based in Canberra with a high in-person office presence and direct customer interaction.
- 10+ years of overall technical industry experience, including at least 5 years in pre-sales or solution engineering.
- Ability to translate complex business and mission problems into scalable data architectures and actionable solutions.
- Outstanding presentation and storytelling skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Broad experience with enterprise-scale databases, data warehouses, ETL, analytics, cloud platforms, data lakes, data mesh, and data fabric.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
- Ability to perform deep discovery of customer architectural frameworks and map them to Snowflake’s data architecture.
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Master’s degree in Data Science or Business Administration.
- Domain expertise and networks in Defence and National Security, Law Enforcement, or Federal Health agencies.
- Experience working with Global Systems Integrators such as EY, Deloitte, or Accenture.
