Software Engineer II

Build and own production features across AiPrise’s compliance orchestration platform, including APIs, integrations, data pipelines, and case-management workflows. The role requires 2–4 years of software engineering experience, backend programming expertise, cloud and database experience, and end-to-end feature ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and ship production features across backend APIs, data pipelines, integrations, case management UI, and customer-facing tools.
  • Own features end to end, from requirements and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Build scalable REST APIs and microservices orchestrating checks across compliance vendors.
  • Develop KYB/AML case-management workflows and business logic.
  • Create pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and routing compliance data at scale.
  • Integrate third-party identity and compliance APIs and map complex vendor responses.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical decision-making.
  • Debug production issues and own incident resolution.
  • Improve performance, reliability, cost-efficiency, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
  • Collaborate with product managers, compliance experts, and customer success teams.
  • Contribute to engineering culture and development workflows.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in at least one modern backend language.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
  • Understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Hands-on cloud platform experience.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern deployment practices.
  • Ability to own features from ambiguous requirements through production launch.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and business-to-technical translation skills.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.

Nice-to-haves

  • FinTech, RegTech, payments, fraud, or risk-detection experience.
  • KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, or adverse-media workflow knowledge.
  • Event-driven architectures and message queues.
  • NoSQL databases or search engines.
  • Third-party API integrations and vendor management at scale.
  • React and TypeScript experience.
  • ML/AI systems or data-intensive application experience.
  • Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
