Responsibilities
- Write software that will be used in production and has meaningful impact to Stripe.
- Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews or design discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively seek and incorporate feedback.
- Learn quickly by asking questions, working effectively with an intern manager and teammates, and clearly communicating work status.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in computer science, math, or a related discipline.
- Strong fundamental understanding of computer science.
- Experience and familiarity with programming through side projects or classwork.
- Experience from previous internships or other multi-person projects, including open-source contributions.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and collaboration with mentors and subject-matter experts.
Nice-to-haves
- At least two years of university education or equivalent work experience.
- Specialized knowledge balanced with general technical skills, such as frontend technologies and an understanding of how a service handles an HTTP request.
- Experience writing high-quality pull requests with good test coverage and minimal defects.
- Familiarity with navigating and managing work in new, multi-language codebases.
- Ability to write clearly when explaining work to stakeholders, team members, and colleagues.
