Engineering Architect - DX/AX/UX
Shapes the architectural vision for Auth0’s developer, user, and agent experiences across SDKs, APIs, documentation, and product surfaces. Responsibilities
- Define and drive the architectural vision for DX, UX, and AX across Auth0's public products, SDKs, and APIs.
- Identify and address inconsistencies across product surfaces, establishing unified patterns and standards.
- Architect and contribute to the SDK and API design layer, ensuring developer-facing interfaces are ergonomic, consistent, and built for human and agent consumers.
- Design and build agent skills, guardrails, and contextual tooling, including MCP servers,
SKILL.md,llms.txt, and structured documentation. - Embed within Engineering teams for large initiatives, providing architectural guidance for smaller efforts.
- Partner with Design to ensure engineering implementation reflects and reinforces product UX direction.
- Contribute hands-on to Auth0's Developer Experience Principles through implementation.
- Review, prototype, and contribute code across SDKs, tooling, and documentation systems.
- Participate in the Engineering Leadership Team.
- Mentor and develop engineers across the organization on experience-focused architecture.
Requirements
- 15–20 years of experience.
- Deep experience designing developer-facing products, including SDKs, APIs, CLIs, documentation systems, or developer portals.
- Strong understanding of developer experience and the ability to identify, articulate, and resolve gaps.
- Familiarity with agentic experience, including agent-readable documentation formats, MCP servers, agent skills, and how AI agents consume APIs and tooling.
- Knowledge of identity protocols such as OAuth, OIDC, and SAML and their presentation in developer-facing products.
- Experience driving consistency across multiple product surfaces.
- Hands-on coding ability, including building, prototyping, and contributing directly.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to influence engineers, product managers, and designers and drive technical decisions to conclusion.
- Ability to create clarity and alignment across teams without direct authority.
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source SDKs or libraries.
- Familiarity with structured content and documentation systems designed for LLM consumption, including
llms.txt, OpenAPI, and structured changelogs. - Frontend or full-stack development experience, particularly with developer tooling or product surfaces such as Universal Login.
