Engineering Manager, Server Networking Security
Leads the Server Ingress Security team, managing engineers while guiding the design and operation of security-critical networking services in Rust. The role requires substantial systems software experience, engineering management expertise, and strong judgment in security-sensitive domains.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of software engineers, including hiring, growth, compensation, and performance management.
- Own the results delivered by the team and the execution of its 12-month roadmap for the Atlas Network Protection layer.
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of production-ready security services in Rust, emphasizing security, correctness, performance, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Program Management, and Engineering leadership to specify, prioritize, and deliver features.
- Handle or lead responses to time-sensitive security incidents and customer escalations.
- Estimate task complexity, communicate delivery timelines, and manage project risks.
- Remove technical barriers, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and support the overall health and development of the team.
- Contribute to organizational growth planning, engineering resource allocation, hiring plans, and project assignments.
- Establish relationships with stakeholders across Server, Atlas, and Product Security; review designs, guide technical decisions, and lead major feature delivery.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring, performance and growth management, compensation planning, and mentoring.
- 8+ years of experience building production-quality systems software in large backend or compiled-codebases, ideally using Rust.
- Strong technical judgment in security-sensitive or networking-adjacent domains.
- Experience designing, writing, testing, maintaining, and operating mission-critical software systems.
- Ability to coach engineers, support career development, and create growth opportunities.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly across computer science, software engineering, and leadership.
