Responsibilities
- Build infrastructure for the Databricks platform at scale.
- Build foundational infrastructure platforms that support operation across numerous geographic regions and cloud providers.
- Implement cloud-agnostic infrastructure abstractions to help engineers manage and operate services more efficiently.
- Develop tools and processes that improve engineering efficiency, including programming languages, linters, static analysis, IDEs, remote development environments, automated release pipelines, and test automation frameworks.
- Optimize the Rust development experience across the organization.
- Develop and operate backend systems throughout design, development, implementation, and ongoing operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- 6+ years of production-level experience in Python, Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch.
- Experience with a SaaS platform or service-oriented architectures.
- Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Java, Scala, or Go.
- Hands-on experience developing and operating backend systems.
- Ability to contribute across all project phases with guidance from senior team members.
