- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development for team members.
- Optimize team velocity by prioritizing workload, removing roadblocks, and protecting the team from disruption.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager on product strategy and backlog prioritization.
- Identify professional development opportunities and coordinate support to deliver them.
- Anticipate hiring needs and partner with the talent team to recruit, evaluate, and hire team members.
- Provide performance feedback and complete team performance evaluations.
- Offer frequent informal feedback, recognize achievements, and identify growth opportunities.
- Advise teams on technical difficulties encountered during development.
- Identify overlooked risks involving scalability, performance, security, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Maintain current knowledge of the development tools and technologies used by the team.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of people management or engineering leadership experience.
- Experience leading and developing software engineering teams.
- Experience in agile software development environments.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience balancing speed to market with long-term engineering decisions.
