Software Development Engineer II - Frontend
Build and operate high-performance Vue.js commerce surfaces, including storefronts, checkout, and subscription workflows, for global users. The role requires strong frontend performance, PWA, accessibility, localization, caching, and typed API integration expertise.

Responsibilities
- Build and ship commerce surfaces including storefronts, checkout, catalogs, subscription management, invoices, and documents.
- Embed experiences using module federation, iframes, and white-label hosts that remain isolated, load quickly, and degrade gracefully.
- Own and measure performance budgets covering Core Web Vitals, bundle size, render cost, hydration, and main-thread work.
- Build installable, offline-tolerant PWAs with service workers, caching strategies, and background sync.
- Deliver WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and localization across languages, currencies, tax and address formats, and RTL layouts.
- Instrument the client with real-user monitoring and OpenTelemetry.
- Collaborate with product and design teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 2+ years building and operating production frontend applications.
- Deep Vue.js knowledge, including reactivity, component composition, rendering behavior, and runtime costs.
- Experience measuring and resolving frontend performance regressions using Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, and performance profilers.
- Knowledge of service workers and caching strategies, including precaching, runtime caching, versioning, invalidation, and offline behavior.
- Experience with client state management and local caching at scale, such as TanStack Query.
- Accessibility expertise covering semantics, focus management, keyboard navigation, screen readers, and WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Experience with internationalization and localization, including message extraction, plurals, locale-aware currency and date formatting, and RTL.
- Familiarity with modern frontend tooling, module federation, bundle analysis, and code splitting.
- Ability to consume typed backend contracts such as ConnectRPC and protobuf and reason about API contracts and error states.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
